Registry types
There are two different registry types, designed for different data collection and analysis scenarios: follow-up registries and care process registries. Choosing between the two depends on how the patient group care is carried out and on what type of information is to be analysed in the registry.
The same page types are used regardless of the registry type, although with a slightly different design for the registration overview, patient page and registration form.
Follow-up Registry
Follow-up registries are suitable when collecting information on patients with chronic diseases or chronic conditions and who are regularly contacted for follow-ups. As the work involved in these registries has no given end, new follow-ups can be carried out continuously. The registry itself determines the data collection interval by alerting the registry user to the fact that a new registration is to be made for a patient belonging to the unit in question.
Care Process Registry
A care process registry is suitable for registries that collect information related to a particular event or action, such as an operation with the accompanying preparatory and subsequent examinations. The registrations involving the patient's care are carried out in a number of steps. Once all the steps in question have been registered, the registration work of the patient's care process is completed. However, a patient may have several registered care processes in a given registry.
