QReg5 Design System

Previous releases

The QReg5 platform is usually updated 2 times a year, so registries can take advantage of new functionality. If serious bugs or security issues are found, patch releases are made.

Second release 2024 (November)

  • In the previous release, the registry platform received an updated design, with better support for smaller screens. For the upcoming release, more adjustments and changes will be introduced with the goal of achieving a uniform, accessible and responsive design.
  • CONTENT MENU: Better support for navigation within registration forms by adding a content menu. The possibility to show or hide entire sections will be removed, since an overview will be provided by the content menu.
  • Presentation - Changes for registry users (PDF, 3MB)

First release 2024 (May)

  • Updated design. In the new design, the color scheme, font and layout will change slightly, with the aim of giving more focus to the registry content and to make the application work better on smaller screens. It is only the appearance that will change, the registry will remain the same and the functionality is not affected.
  • Improvements and quality assurance of the platform's REST API to receive data from other sources (for example healthcare information systems).

For follow-up registries

  • The tables on the registration overview page are re-designed to use the improvements created for care process registries. The changes mean that also in follow-up registries, all registration work will be shown in one table. You can then switch between different views to easily see for example upcoming registrations. In the new design, performance is also improved and the table list will be paginated when it contains more than 25 entries.

Second release 2023 (November)

In general

  • Many registries have more advanced Excel exports than what is covered by the basic export that comes with the platform. Where there is a need for an Excel export that requires processing, for example to merge results or being able to filter and look at subsets of a registry's variables/forms, it is done by UCR in the analysis tool SAS. For an upcoming release, we are therefore working with platform support for registries to be able to easily make selections for and order Excel exports built in SAS.
  • For those registries that need it, support for adding specific administration around variables' selection options will be added. The area of use for this can be, for example to enable the selection of a certain type of instrument in an input form based on a list of possible choices that a registry administrator has specified and can keep up to date.
  • Ability for repeatable variable groups in forms to add a summary that dynamically updates as the user fills in information.

For care process registries

  • Expanded registration overview with the option of filters to more easily find processes and registrations with for example different statuses or which are made within certain intervals. The registry's needs determine which filters you choose to add.
  • Improved performance and design for tables with a lot of content, for example by addition of pagination and faster loading.
  • Search by care process ID.

First release 2023 (May)

Generally

  • Improved UI feedback for registrations that cannot be edited or opened due to incomplete permissions
  • Adjustments in strategies to show what is mandatory and optional to fill in, see Labelling of fields
  • Sorting on the registration overview is preserved when users switch views
  • Improved performance for loading and displaying long lists of registrations on the registration overview and patient page
  • Improved flow in case of session timeout with an updated dialog to make it clearer to the user what is required to fully log out of the registry
  • Better feedback for reports lacking content, see Data is missing
  • Preparation for technical upgrade of add-on reports as well as improved performance in general for this report type
  • Adjustments and further development of the platform's image support, among other things to be able to support that several images can be used and switched between in the input situation, see Image Support

For care process records

  • Adjustment and addition of icons for care process registries, to have a consistent and complete set for registrations' different statuses and permission levels, see Components/Care process/Status
  • In the registration overview and on the patient page, processes can be sorted according to status or date to make them easier to find

Third release in 2022 (November)

The third release of 2022 was released in November and included the updates needed for the turn of the year:

  • Completion of support for registries that need to record repeating steps that may occur as part of a care process. It may involve, in addition to a surgery, registering any re-operations. See more info: repeatable registrations
  • Support for including information in the excel export of repeatable groups of variables. Now all entered variables are included, even those from sub-forms that were not included before.
  • Continued rollout of Mobile SITHS support for registries using the QReg5 platform.
  • Interaction and GUI improvements for how registrations are started on the patient page.
  • Adjustment of filters in the add-on report, to allow selection of whole years (and not just monthly ranges).
  • Logging of report usage in order to get a picture of which reports are used and how the usage differs between healthcare units. This helps the registry, together with UCR, to get an indication of whether the reports are functioning well and in demand and/or if targeted training efforts are needed.
  • Update of ICD-10 and KVÅ codes from the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare, valid for 2023

Second release in 2022 (midsummer)

The second release of the QReg platform was released in June, before midsummer. The release included:

  • Support for registries that need to record repeated steps that may occur as part of a care process. It may involve, in addition to a surgery, registering any re-operations.
  • Improved interaction for image support.
  • As we phased out support for IE11, a warning is displayed for users who log in with a browser that is not supported and where UCR does not test and can guarantee the functionality.
  • Start introducing support for Mobile SITHS by introducing and testing the support on a small scale in one of the registries on the new platform.

First release in 2022 (February)

The first release of 2022 for the QReg5 platform was released at the end of February. No release was made in December, which is why this release gathers things developed during the fourth quarter of 2021.

  • Some residual points and refinement around repeated variable groups.
  • Redesign of the platform's search function to better support searches for personal identity numbers/coordination numbers and reserve numbers
  • Option for registries to add search for PID number (patient reference that can be used to avoid spreading personal identity numbers unnecessarily, e.g. in support cases)
  • Support for displaying longer help texts when inputting (which do not fit in the tooltip format)

Third release in 2021 (November)

The third release of the QReg5 platform in 2021 was released in November. This release provides support for more advanced input. It is, for example, about repeated groups of variables that need to be able to be entered, where the number of groups needed is not known in advance. It can, for example, be about specifying various findings during an X-ray or measures taken during a procedure. A first version of image input support is also made available for the platform with this release.

Second release in 2021 (June)

  • The platform now has basic support for registries that have processes or actions that are natural to represent as a chain of registrations. We will evaluate this with registry users and representatives of registries that have an older platform version today. This is to determine what further steps we need to take so that it will be smooth to work in this type of registry and so that all the information needed at the time of registration can be added.
  • Much focus during the spring has been on improvements in the platform so that registers can enter repeated groups of variables in the same form, e.g. multiple diagnoses, stents, etc.

First release in 2021 (March)

The first release of the QReg5 platform in 2021 was released on March 16. The release included:

  • Minor improvements and remaining features required for the first registry using the new platform design, SveDem, to go into production after the first quarter. The focus has been on finding and fixing problems and shortcomings in order for this type of registry (follow-up registry) to work well in use.
  • Better design and feedback to the user for "locked registrations", for removing registrations and for finding and following up patients the unit is responsible for.
  • Improved basic functionality for printing forms and error handling/error pages.
  • Optimizations and adjustments in the platform's report solutions, above all date management for the unit's Excel export as well as display and interaction for the customized reports ("additional reports") that registries can order as additions to the basic reports that come with the platform.
  • Preparation of the platform to be able to support other login methods than SITHS card.

Fourth release in 2020

The last release of 2020 of the QReg5 platform was released on Dec. 15. The following were included:

  • Started support for registries that have processes or actions that are natural to represent as a chain of registrations
  • Commenced analysis and preparatory work to support more advanced input than the absolutely basic one currently available.

Third release in 2020

The third release in 2020 of the QReg5 platform was released in Q4. The focus is mainly still on the reports in the new platform where details are completed for the basic reports "Quality Index" and "Production". We also hope to have come so far that we have added support in the platform to build something we call "additional reports". Additional reports are a concept that allows selection in order to build register-specific reports with a slightly greater degree of flexibility than the platform's basic reports. In addition to that, minor adjustments and additions will be made to the form, including being able to print forms with a design that is adapted for good readability.

Second release in 2020

The second release was released before midsummer. It includes user administration functionality common to quality registries and concepts, templates and instructions for building reports on the new platform. In more detail, this means:

  • An input and functionality for registry users with administration authorization to be able to handle daily administration by setting up users and assigning authorizations. This is functionality that administrators in previous QReg5 registries have had to log into a separate system to administer. We want to change that, everything must be done in the same system!
  • Production report template which is one of the basic reports* that come with the platform. The aim is to make it easier for a registry to provide basic feedback about what is in the registry regarding, for example, the number of registrations, procedures of a certain type and other simple information by having the template, including the most common graph types, available ready-made and easy to set up with different registries' data.
  • Template for Quality Index Report. Many registries have quality indicators and the template contains a way to illustrate how the own care unit compares to a selection of comparable units over time. The template also contains support for going down a level and see which individuals have not achieved the goals for the indicators, for the purpose of quality review.
  • The basic offer also includes Excel export of the care unit's data so that users can explore the data themselves more freely than is possible in reports. The release therefore contains an efficient and secure solution in the platform for retrieving data in Excel format.
  • For registries that wish and have funding, work will begin with providing a template for building "additional reports" as an extension in relation to the basic reports that come with the platform. Such supplementary reports contain a greater degree of flexibility with the possibility of selection.
  • As the input form is central, certain work will also be done during Q2 with additional functionality to make input easier and smoother

* For the quality register offer, we distinguish between basic reports (or standard reports) and registry-specific additional reports. The basic reports are an offer of a set of reports that should provide the basis of feedback from a quality registry and thus be quick to set up for a registry. The reports are limited in both content and format.

First release in 2020 (April)

Release 1 2020 contains solutions and functionality so that entry into the registry becomes simple and efficient. We are also releasing functionality to arrange and set properties for care units in the registry. It makes it possible to control which reports and input forms each unit has access to. In more detail, this means:

  • Support for registry users to log in to the registry, select the correct care unit and start registering.
  • An overview page for each patient in the registry. On the page there are ongoing and completed registrations as well as the option to start a new registration.
  • A start page similar to the one in older platforms. Here is the unit's "to-do list", i.e. the list of registrations that are relevant to the care unit in some way.
  • A user friendly registration form. A lot of focus has been placed on navigation and layout to make the form quick and efficient to work in. We continue to work with the form even after this release because it is one of the most important parts of the registry.
  • Functionality to bind properties to different entity types. For example, it could mean saying that unit A is a unit responsible for a certain type of care or patients. This enables registries to control different types of forms and reports so that they become relevant to different categories of users.
