In some situations, there is a large number of possible of options to choose from to view these in a list. Then it may be appropriate to use the component for selection via search, where the user receives suggestions and can choose from possible options.

| Simple query | When the user has to make a choice from a predefined set and where there is only one selectable option (eg a diagnosis). The search shows possible matches by using auto-completion. The suggestions are displayed after the user has typed in at least one character. These characters must appear somewhere in the search result for the suggestion to appear in the results list. |
