Message field
The purpose of this component is to convey important information to the user, no matter where in the system the user is working.
There are two types of messages that can be shown at the top of the page:
- Browser warning
- System message
Browser warning
If a user uses an unsupported web browser, a warning message is shown. The message contains a text and a warning symbol.
System message
A system message can be shown in advance to let users now when the system will be unavailable due to maintenance.
The text shown is always the same, but the date and time, as well as when the message should be displayed, can be configured. Apart from the set text it is possible to add a short message about the reason for the system maintenance, for example: “Preparations before upgrade” or “Planned maintenance”.
If there is a need to specify the reason, this information is placed first. System messages are displayed with a blue alert bell icon.
Placement
The message field is always placed at the top of the page and remains on top when the page is scrolled.
Order
In cases where there is more than one message field, they must be displayed in the following order:
- Browser warning
- System message
